Cinema’s Biggest Comeback: 2020 Take 2

Cinema lovers enjoy a great comeback story where heroes like Rocky Balboa, Michelle Payne in Ride Like a Girl and Andy Dufresne in Shawshank Redemption come back from the brink in exceptional and challenging circumstances.

Well here is another comeback story for you. Australia’s most popular form of out of home entertainment is coming back!  Most major cinemas will be looking to open throughout July and some independents are already opening their doors to restricted crowds. All in time for a wave of backlogged blockbusters!

The public are excited and according to research, 83% of Australians are ready to go back to the cinema within 12 weeks of the comeback!

Event Cinemas have released this research in the last couple of weeks highlighting the pent up demand from Aussie audiences who can’t wait for the re-opening.

In the next 6 months there are some incredible releases that are hitting the big screen. Kicking off with the Christopher Nolan Action Thriller Tenet and Disney’s Mulan, things just keep hotting up from there. Wonderwoman, The King’s Man, The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard, The Trial of the Chicago 7, Top Gun, Trolls, Souls and James Bond:No Time to Die to name just a few!  They’ll be coming in thick and fast until 2021.
