Why OzCoWilliams?

When you advertise with OzCoWilliams you deal with the owners of the company ensuring what we promise we deliver, because our company’s business success depends on it. In addition to this personal service we provide our clients opportunities, flexibility and options that tie in easily with their marketing and advertising objectives.

Our relationships with cinemas, both chains and independents, extends from the projectionist all the way through to top management; with the benefit of not for sale opportunities sometimes being available to our client advertisers. The OzCoWilliams model of cinema advertising provides the advertiser with the benefit of reaching the total cinema audience, not just a proportion of it, on any given day.

We will position your advertising before all movies, every session, every day during the period you wish to advertise. This allows audiences simultaneously at each cinema location to encounter your brand in an emotionally charged environment — cinema places brands, products and services right alongside emotion, and OzCoWilliams helps you maximise that.

When OzCo Met Williams

When Austin (Oz) Kelly met Steve Williams, it was a long time before the two would join forces to set up the largest independently owned cinema advertising business in Queensland in 2003.

With strong backgrounds and reputations in sport, media and advertising and with a wealth of common industry friends and contacts, Steve and Austin went on to focus on cinema advertising in 2003 as OzCoWilliams Services.

At the time, movies and advertising were still projected on film or slides. The decision to use digital projection for advertising was in recognition of the on-coming trend of digitised cinemas and the rise of videography within the marketing mix of small and medium businesses.

The business grew from working with its first cinema at the Hyperplex Loganholme (now Event Cinemas Loganholme) with many more cinemas coming on board.

Cinemas caught up and moved from film to digital projection, removing the need for additional hardware, which created an incredible opportunity for local and national brands to stand alongside blockbuster movies as equals with the cost barriers significantly lowered.

Despite doubts from many quarters, the company has grown from having access to one Queensland cinema in 2003 to over 40 now and many more throughout Australia via an extensive network of industry partners. This growth has been possible because of long standing relationships with a wealth of incredible cinemas and advertising clients who have enjoyed the long term benefits of advertising on the big screen.

Austin (Oz) Kelly

Original Co-Founder — “OzCo”

Former MD of international advertising agency Mojo and an executive within Leo Burnett in the 1980s, Austin’s wealth of knowledge has become critical to helping local businesses grow by putting them right in front of local audiences.

Austin co-founded OzCoWilliams in 2003 on the conviction that digital projection would transform cinema advertising into a scalable platform for Australian brands. Two decades later, that thesis is industry consensus.

Steve Williams

Original Co-Founder — “Williams”

An owner of an advertising business prior to cinema, Steve helped create one of Rugby League’s greatest institutions as one of the four founding directors of the Brisbane Broncos Rugby League franchise in the 1980s, prior to co-founding OzCoWilliams Cinema Advertising in 2003.

Steve’s operational discipline is why OzCoWilliams has been able to scale from access to one Queensland cinema in 2003 to a 40+ cinema network across the state.

Chevy Kelly

Owner — since Feb 2026

Son of co-founder Austin Kelly, Chevy took over the family business in February 2026 — carrying forward the OzCoWilliams commitment to Queensland and Australian-owned cinema advertising, partnered with the leading cinema chains.

Chevy works directly with founders, owners and marketing leaders, taking them direct to screen throughout Queensland. From local single-cinema spend, through to statewide deployments.

Founded 2003 · Trading 22+ years · Australian owned and operated · Partnered with Event Cinemas, Birch Carroll & Coyle, Cineplex, Limelight, Cinebar and many independents throughout Queensland
